got a question on Science that deals with mass etc. 8. A student measures the mass of a paper clip. The student’s data table is shown below. The accepted value for the paper clip’s mass is 1.14 http://oi42.tinypic.com/syv69l.jpg Which of the following best describes the student’s measurements? (1 point) A. The student’s measurements were accurate, but not precise. B.The student’s measurements were precise, but not accurate. C. The student’s measurements were neither accurate nor precise. D. The student’s measurements were both accurate and precise.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

precision : degree of agreement (scatter, spread) of repeated measurements of the same quantity accuracy : degree of agreement between the result of a measurement and the true value of the quantity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's C. is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true value of paper clip = 1.14 obtained value = 2.45 2.40 2.42 what can we deduce ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't know I suck at science and prolly need to go over everything again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a measurement to be accurate there should be a lot of trials... which is not the case here ... and since there is not a big difference between true value and obtained value we say it is precise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think B might be the right answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks I just figured C because none of them repeated for me to call it Precise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the mass never repeated *

This other question 9. Which component of the technological system is achieved when an automobile airbag inflates? (1 point) A. input B. feedback C. process D. output I think this one is B. would that be correct? because output, process, and input don't really sound right yet again I don't know the operation of an airbag to be sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well I mean I know what it does I just don't know exactly how it works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one is not for me .. i dont know the answer for this one sorry :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha it's all good I think I understand these questions better than the first one lol
