What is the square root of 25 over 3
1.66666666667
Well the square root of 25 can be simplified to 5. Basically factor your number down to a product of primes. Where the same prime occurs twice you can cross out both of those numbers and re-write that number outside the square root sign. That is because a square root of a number is that number which when multiplied by itself gives the original number. So the square root of 25 is 5 because 5 * 5 is 25. With fractions, they are not considered simplified when a radical is in the denominator. We can remove the square root of 3 from the denominator by multiplying both numerator and denominator by the same number, in this case the square root of three. Doing this gives you an answer of (5 * square root of 3)/3. This number on a calculator, for what it is worth, is 2.88 and change. :)
hmmm, what's \(\bf \sqrt{25}\quad ?\)
