facotr 5a3+15a+20a
is that 5a^3 + 15a + 20a = 5a^3 + 35a move 5a out front: 5a(a^2+7)
is this problem written correctly ? Is there supposed to be an a^2 in it ?
no its 5a^3 + 15a^2 +20a
sure make it harder...hehe
factor out 5a and what do you get ?
5a(a+3a+4) ?
5a(a^2 + 3a + 4)
/agree
where does the a^2 come from why is it to the second its only one a left
when you factor out 5a from a^3, you are left with a^2. Understand ?
oops..from 5a^3
ohhh okay, well my homework is on this do you mind helping with the rest and checking my work ?
I can stay for a little longer
in other words what is (5a^3) / 5a? and how does that relate to 5a*a^2?
good explanation kantalope :)
18y^4 + 6y^3 +24y^2 ok first im going to factor 6y out right then its going to me 6y ( 3y +y + 4+) ? im confused as to how the exponents work
you can factor out 6y^2...try it
6y^2 (3y^2+y+4y)
almost... 6y^2(3y^2 + y + 4) you can check your work by multiplying the 6y^2 through the parenthesis... 6y^2 * 3y^2 = 18y^4 6y^2 * y = 6y^3 6y^2 * 4 = 24y^2 put them all together and you get : 18y^4 + 6y^3 + 24y^2 (your original problem)
ohhhhh okay thank you .
when your in doubt, check your work. If mistakes were made, you can find them
ok
need any more help ?
no i think i got the hang of it careless mistakes im going to take my time
you can do this.....I know you will do well :)
