What method could be used to separate silica and sodium if they were accidentally mixed?

OpenStudy (jmark):

Since silica don't dissolve in water but 'sodium chloride' does. So put them in the water, then you'll see the precipitate, remove the precipitate then you'll get the 'sodium chloride'. So now all you have to do is just to evaporate. Learn more about Formula for Sodium Chloride http://goo.gl/u1MI3j
