adding 5 to the parent function as intercept calls for horizontal shift to the right 5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so b=5 makes the graph shift to the right horizontally
???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes. changes to b intercept shifts from right to left
changes to slope causes a vertical shift up or down...
because it is a positive number goes to right (or up in verticals)
if it was a negative number would go to left (or down in verticals)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so my answer should be b=5 makes the graph shift 5 times to the right horizontally ?

H is under the cube root sign - so that means that when h = -6 means that vertically shift UP by 6
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thnx
OpenStudy (anonymous):
This is UP because the original is x-h (with h=0)
so in your problem x-6 (with h = 6) since the negative sign is standard
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so itll shift up? right
