Question

I am writing an essay and inside the textbook I am using is a primary source document. When I use a quote in my essay how do I cite it in the essay itself. I know that when I am doing my work cited in the back I would just cite the textbook as a whole but how would I cite it within my essay? Thank You!

I am writing fiction and had been asking around about public domain information. I was told that I could cite it by using and * or as an example (1) next to the written information within your essay or even a book. I hope this helps you.
