1) Find the volume V of the solid obtained by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the specified line. y=6sinx, y=6cosx 0<=x<=pi/4 about y=-1 i got pi integral (1+6cosx)^2 - (1+sinx)^2 dx from 0 to pi/4 then as my answer i got pi(29/4 +7sqrt2+35pi/8) it says its wrong but not sure why. 2) find the volume of V of the solid obtained by rotating the region bound by the given curves about the specified line. y=x, y=0, x=3 x=5 about x=1 If you can give me any direction on number 2 i would really appreciate it.

@dumbcow These are the last 2 I need help on :) please and thank you

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok i looked at your work for 1st one and everything looks good...what is original function "sin x" or "6sin x" ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6sin x

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yeah thats why then...you had typo in your post "sin x" so adjust integral to include "6sin x"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh so its \[6+12\sqrt{2}\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

#2 doesnt seem that bad...graph it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the little mistakes that always get me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didnt think number 2 was but maybe bc of the others im over thinking it haha
