Lucy made 12 monthly payments of $28.54 with her credit card for a video game system she rented. She is charged a credit card fee of $4.25 for each payment made with a credit card. She was also required to pay late fees five times in the amount of $31.75. What is the total cost of the video game system?
total payment -processing fees -late fees 12 x $28.54 - 12x$4.25 -$31.75
that'll give me the answer?
the 12 payments include both the cost for the video gaming system as well as processing fees and late fees. so subtracting the fees leaves the cost of the system itself
I got 259.73
yep, I also get $259.73
I'm not sure if the processing fee is included in the 12 payments?
if not, then the 12 payments were only the splitted cost and the late fees in that case system costs 12 x $28.54 -$31.75
310.73?
yes
the late fees are definitely not the cost of the video game system in store that's why they are subtracted
wait a moment
forget everything cost of system was: 12 x $28.54 + 12x$4.25 +$31.75
$425.23
all additional costs are also due to the video game system
so it can be counted towards the video game system
$342.48 $393.48 $501.23 $552.23 these r the answer choices...
D) $552.23 is the total cost with: - credit card processing fees - 5 months missing to bring back the console (late fees) - the renting cost for 12 months
how did u figure that out? im so confused!
I added everything together. every point adds new cost: 1.) 12 monthly payments $28.54 each 2.) 12 times the processing fee for every monthly payment 3.) 5 times late fees of $31.75
I guess the late fees were paid with cash in store because they don't seem to add more processing fees.
thank you! I finally got it :)
