Evaluate if x = 2.5 and y = –14.6. x – |y|

Okay, one, I would like to tell you that you have better luck in the mathematicsection. Two, I also wanted to say that I can help you though! First, you plug in the values. 2.5 - |-14.6| Do you know the absolute value of -14.6?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

If you need help figuring out the absolute value - the absolute value is the number of places a number is from zero in the number line, so |15| = 15 and |-15| = 15. The absolute value is always a positive number.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

After you find the absolute value of -14.6, then subtract it from 2.5. And another hint - it would most likely be a negative number. :-)
