5n+34=2(1-7n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried doing it and I can't get the answer, I need the steps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the right side - let's remove the parenthesis by factoring the 2(1-7n) by distribution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

RIGHT SIDE 2(1 -7N) 2*1 - 2*7N 2 - 14N You follow?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now we have 5n+ 34 = 2-14n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so lets algebraically get all Ns on one side and the numbers on the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5n + 34 +14n = 2 - 14n + 14n 19n + 34 = 2 19n + 34 -34 = 2 -34 19n = -32 n = -32/19 (divde both sides by 19)

Thank you
