It is frustrating to feel the need to message an ambie or mod, only to find out that I can't do so because they don't accept messages from anyone whom they have not fanned.

Believe me, I GET why they would do that. I get a lot of unwanted messages too, usually asking for help with a problem.

But sometimes there are things that don't quite deserve to be "reported as abuse" but that the user ought to be told about - like not medaling people who help, putting 6-8 problems into one post, etc.... and I've messaged a mod before, who basically told me that I should tell an ambie, because they are the ones responsible for "teaching" new users how the site works. Well, a situation of this type just arose, and I tried two different ambies who are online, but neither of them will accept my message.

As for others I cannot speak, just try to get a list of those that do, and know that my doors are always open :)

Same here @DebbieG I used to block those messages from people i haven't fanned... but then I realized that it was important to here from the community so if you have a question about an issue and I am online, feel free to message me :)
