Find the gcf of both equations which is 2x, then cross out both of the 2x and you're left with the answer above.

But you aren't done - now you need to factor the num'r and the den'r, see if there are any more common factors that reduce.

Looks like it isn't going to reduce any further. Still, you should always factor those trinomials when possible, to see what you have.
