Combinatorics? If you're giving n-DISTINCT-letters and you're asked the number of n-letter 'words' you can form with them, then the answer is simply n! <-- \[\Large n!=n\cdot(n-1)\cdot(n-2) \ ... \ 2\cdot1\]
