Easy Trig problem..please help..giving out medals!
Please help with #1 and #2
picture is too blurry sry
better pic
@hwtrain
Ok so you know what Angle C and you know the radius length which also one of the side of the triangle if you take a closer look.|dw:1379979128161:dw|Ok so know you need to find the Hypotenuse, Do you know how to do that?
cos89=6370/h? but when I do that, it doesn't work
6378
12501?
Yeah that's what I got.
can you help me with this? #4 and #5
Sure
thanks!
Uh... I only see 1, 2, & 3
yeah can you help with 1 and 2?
@hwtrain
Ok now, I think it would be easier if you rotate the triangle where its leveled |dw:1379979956773:dw| So now if you do sine of .25 you get \[\frac{ r }{ r + 384,403 }\]
ok what is next?
For #2 you have, \[\sin 0.25degrees = \frac{ r }{ r + 384,403 }\]So multiply r + 384403 to sin .25 So you'll have \[\sin 0.25 (r + 384403) = r\]Then Distribute and find r
ok next?
So it would be sin 0.25 r +(sin 0.25 * 384403) = r So if you do sine .25 you get .2474..... .2474 r + 95102.82 = r minus .2474r to other side 95102.82 = .7525r divide .7526 to get r \[r=\frac{ 95102.82 }{ .7525 }= 126366.36km\]
ok thanks! can you help with #3? last question
I think that you can search online because it wants you to find the up-to-date figure for the radius of the moon.
Hope this helps and Good Luck :)
