tom and john are to sit in a row of 11 seats with 9 other people. how many ways are there for the 11 people to sit if tom sits to the left of john?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since 2 tom and john are sitting together(adjacent to each other) so we take both as one... so in layman term there are 10 seat avialable and 10 candidate to seat (9 + 1 (for both tom and john))

answer will be 10P10 =10! ie 120
