Which of the following is a true statement about functions? http://i.imgur.com/D1ECF2C.png

OpenStudy (debbieg):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

You don't multiply matrices the same way you add matrices. Take f(x)=2x and g(x)=x+1. Try f(g(x)) and g(f(x)). (f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x) so what do you think about C? Try f(x)=2x-1. If f(3h) = 3*f(h)?

So then its not a. wouldnt c and b both be true though?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

c is true. Did you try the compositions in b with the functions I gave you?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Take f(x)=2x and g(x)=x+1. Try f(g(x)) and g(f(x)). f(g(x))=f(x+1) = 2(x + 1) =? g(f(x))=g(2x) = (2x) + 1 =?
