Determine the points at which the circle given by (x - 5)^2 + (y - 5)^2 = 25 is intersected by the line y = -1/3x + 5/3.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Plug in -1/3x + 5/3 for y in the circle equation. Expand both of the squares of the binomials, and solve for x. It will be a quadratic equation, so you can solve with any methods you like for solving quadratics.
