You are simply telling the fairy tell in your own words. Say it's the flash back. You are starting with where she ended up when you read the tale, and then starting back at the beginning and telling the story to how she got to that point. You have to work up to the end from the beginning after you have stated where she is weather it be in the end or middle of the story for your starting point. For the dream sequence you simply have to put a at the dream you just have to place the dreaming at some point (middle or end) of the story to explain the plot.
