Find the error?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

its an absolute value equation ! start by finding the vertex, and verify the vertex in the given solution is correct or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the vertex of the first one is (-6,-5) ??

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

x-coordinate is -6 \(\checkmark \) check y coordinate again

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

y coordinate is simply -2, watever stays outside the abs bars so the vertex is (-6, -2)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the error is that the vertex is -6, -2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait it says that oops

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yup ! the error was wid finding the x-coordinate of vertex. the sign got flipped.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it already says the vertex is -6,-2 so are you sure thats the error?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

check again... if u still see both are same, either one of us must contact an eye doctor... :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

jk... :) look in the solution it says (6, -2) but we got (\(\color{red}{-}\)6, -2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np :) thats the first error, there are two more errors , u wanto find them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I need to correct them all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would it be translated 6 units to the left? instead of right?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Perfect ! thats 3rd error .

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wats the 2nd error ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

its there in the first line itself...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the axis of symmetry is -6?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yes ! you're good !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay good thank you so much! :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

axis of symmetry is : \(x = -6\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np :)
