Triangle ABC is a right-angle triangle. Length AC is opposite theta and is length 8 units. Length CB is adjacent (next to) theta, length 11 units. Length AB is hypothenuse and length can be found by Pythagoras' Theorem. Seeing you have units for the opposite and adjacent side of the triangle in consideration to theta, recall tan Q =O/A (Opposite divided by adjacent) Hence tan Q= 8/11 Transfer tan over to become tan to power -1 Q= tan^-1 (8/11) =36.02737....degrees =36 degrees (Correct to nearest degree) Hope that helps:) Good luck! Just a plus O--->Opposite A--->Adjacent H--->Hypothenuse TOA-->tan Q=O/A CAH-->cos Q=A/H SOH-->sin Q=O/H Pst! In Cantonese, Toa cah soh is the pronunciation of Big Foot Auntie;)
