Find the slope of the line parallel to each given line. y=2x-5 Medal if you help??????????????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order for a line to be parallel to another, they must have the same slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then can you show me on this one so i can do the rest correctly, please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay first things firt, do you know how to graph this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x would be slope and y intercep would be 0n the -5 side right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, so the line would cross the y axis at -5 and the slop would be positive two. For this problem, you actually do not need to graph it. since you know that any slope (a) is parallel to any slope(b) then, both slopes a and b would be congruent. this means the slope of a line parallel to y=2x-5 is 2

Oh my god. haha thanks for making it much clearer now! ;)

My pleasure!
