Given the equation xy+4y=3x-2 show that y is a function of x and determine the domain in interval notation.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Try factoring out y on the left hand side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did, I just wasn't sure if my answer was correct.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

What'd you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Y= (3x-2)\div(x+4) Domain: (-\infty,-4)\cup(-4,\infty)\]

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Excellent. Btw if you want to write it in fractional form \[\Large y = \frac{ 3x-2 }{ x+4 } \] use \frac{ ? }{ ? } or click the button at the bottom where it has a/b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's how I wrote it :P Just wasn't sure how to do it on here. But thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

haha no i assumed you wrote it on paper in fractional form... i meant for latex writing :)
