HELP! Given the line y=-1/2x+5, which pair of equations represents lines that are parallel, and perpendicular, respectively

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Parallel will have the same slope the perpendicular will be the inverse of the slope. So if you have and initial graph of y= 2x+4. A parallel line would be y=2x + or - any point and they will never intersect. A perpendicular line would be y=-1/2x+4 Hope this helped
