OpenStudy (sarahc):

It is more important to look at the serving size than the servings per container when reading a food label. True False

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what did you get?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

I haven't submitted it yet...I'll let u know. I just put true

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

just a guess?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

or do you have any reasoning to back you up?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

I guessed.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you pull any food box, and look at say the calorie count, is that calorie count for the entire box? or for just that serving portion?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

the serving

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so that's why it's important to know how much a serving size is

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Yeah I agree with you but it was false

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well you use the serving size and the servings per container to figure out how many calories (and things like fat, sodium etc) is contained in the entire box

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you're disciplined enough, you would only eat that one serving size, but it makes no sense to place more importance on the servings per container

OpenStudy (sarahc):

I agree with you! FLVS is strange sometimes..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'm sure if you bring it up with the teacher, then s/he would agree with you

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and fix the score on this one
