the chain wheels of Emma's bicycle has a radius of 3.5 inches. the rear gear has a radius of a 1.75 inches, and the back tire has a radius of 12 inches. If Emma pedals for 150 revolutions of the chain wheels, how far will she travels? (in feet)

OpenStudy (zpupster):

number of revolutions of gear wheel=(radius of chain wheel/radius of gear wheel) x (number of revolutions of chain wheel) so no. of revolutions of gear wheel=(3.5/1.75)150 = 300 as gear wheel and back wheel are fixed to the same hub their revolutions are same
