Write an inequality that represents the statement “x is at most –5 or at least 7.” @petiteme

OpenStudy (dobby1):

ok so I am going to show you a list of examples in my next posts of at most and at least

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x is at most -5 means x cannot be >-5 \[i.e.,x \le -5\] similarly for the other you can think yourself ,if any problem I will help you.

OpenStudy (petiteme):

x≤-5 or x≥7 Is this right?

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Hey, there are lots of people here who can help you :) feel free to ask if you don't understand anything :)

Solve the inequality. 5x – 7(x + 1) > –9 + 3 @petiteme and @surjithayer

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Distribut -7 first 5x-7x-7>-6 -2x-7>-6 transpose -7 -2x>1 divide both sides by -2 x>-1/2 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correction -2x>1 divide by -2 x<-1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when we divide or multiply by a negative quantity the inequality changes.

OpenStudy (petiteme):

Aw, sorry. Forgot to change that XD my fault :) thanks for correcting me :)
