Evaluate: [(51 + 3) - 3^2] ÷ 9 • 2? Ok so I keep getting 2.5, which I think is right, but some other answers on the internet said 10...what am I doing wrong? Here's my work below. [(51 + 3) - 3^2] ÷ 9 • 2 54 - 3^2 ÷ 9 • 2 54 - 9 ÷ 9 • 2 54 - 9 ÷ 18 45 ÷ 18 2.5

Do you know the rules? The acroynm is PEMDAS Do the operation in the Parathensis first, the exponent, then Multiply, then divide, then add then subtract

OpenStudy (plainntall):

You should do the operations in the brackets before you divide since brackets are like parethesis. [(51 + 3) - 3^2] ÷ 9 • 2 {54 - 3^2} ÷ 9 • 2
