OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you familiar with the FOIL method ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I'm just not good at it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, Outside, Inside, Last First -- multiply the first terms in each set ...3p * 5p = 15p^2 Outside -- multiply the outside terms in each set ..3p * -1 = -3p Inside -- multiply the inside terms in each set...2 * 5p = 10p Last -- multiply the last terms in each set...2 * -1 = -2 now put it all together... 15p^2 - 3p + 10p - 2 combine like terms 15p^2 + 7p - 2
