Which of the following relations is a function? A. { (2,6) , (3,9) , (4,2) , (3,6) } B. { (2,8) , (3,6) , (2,4) , (0,2) } C. { (3,-2) , (4,7) , (-2,5) , (-4,5) } D. { (4,7) , (-2,5) , (1,3) , (-2,1) }

OpenStudy (senkai):

It's not A, because there's two y values for the same x value: (3,9) and (3,6) It's not B, because there's two y values for the same x value: (2,8) and (2,4) Out of C and D, which one do you think it would be? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c?

OpenStudy (senkai):

Yes, it would be C. There's no x value with a different y value It can't be D, because there's an x value with two different y values. (-2,5) and (-2,1)

thanks :D
