Physics question but requires math.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

The spectrum line shows at 35 cm and the transmission diffraction grating is 95 cm from the light source spectrum tube. If the distance between lines on the diffraction grating is 1700nm, what is the wavelength of this yellow light n nm? Do I use either n*wavelength=2D sine theta or n*wavelength- D sine theta?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I ment N*wavelength=D*Sine theta for 2nd one.

OpenStudy (zpupster):

n lambda = d sin( theta ) lamda is wavelength

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Do I need to rearrange it in any way?

OpenStudy (zpupster):

sorry i am not sure
