3x + 5 < 6x - 1

OpenStudy (compassionate):

You can solve this like a normal equation. Only minor things change. 3x + 5 < 6x - 1 3x + 6 < 6x (Upon adding 1) x + 6 < 2x (Upon dividing by 3) 6 < x (Upon subtracting x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 3x on both sides, then add one , lastly divide by three on both sides to get 2<x 3x+5<6X-1 5<3x-1 6<3x 2<x
