St which points does the graph of y=(x)/(x^2+9) have a horizontal tangent line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x }{ x ^{2} +9}\]

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Are you familiar with gradients, or differentiating? Hint: when you differentiate an curve equation you obtain the gradient of the tangential line a certain point. What will the gradient of a horizontal line be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not good at the differentiating. i don't really understand what that is.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Hmmm. That might be difficult to show online. You might want to read books or search online on that. Btw, what level math are you in now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cal BC as a junior. i skipped precal

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Oh my. Hmm this might be difficult for me. This might help: http://www.mathtutor.ac.uk/differentiation
