The beach called my name as the sun beat down and looked more and more inviting, or the beach smiled as the clouds floated away and brought more sunlight, or At the ocean the beach frowned with dissappointment as the rain started to pour down.

It is very good. A beach can't call, but people can. The beach can not smile, tat is again human. Same with a frowning beach in the rain. These are all personifications! The beach felt ill from drinking all the BP oil would be another. =)
