English 62 Online

I'm not even going to lie here. I have always been very good at creative writing but always struggled with English (Back in my day it was called Language Arts... yes I'm dating myself) I have been writing a book series and I am already up to my 3rd book. My question is, aside from paying for an English Class (money is very tight) Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can learn Language Arts better? Is there a sight online??? (I was the type of kid that was in trouble all time so I never had High School English and just got a GED) I would be ever grateful for any assistance I can get.

Actually, this method is often overlooked but a great way to improve your vocabulary is to study the SAT words. I know this idea sounds sort of ridiculous, but you can start with SAT Vocabulary flash cards to help you expand your vernacular. From there on, you can try to read more books (I know, I'm stating the obvious but it works and it's something that's often overlooked) because that is a super efficient way to pick up new words, improve your writing style, and stimulate your mind all whilst having fun! Good luck! (:

These websites are quite helpful: http://www.wikihow.com/Build-Your-Vocabulary https://sites.google.com/site/makingsenseoftext/text/author-style/syntax Also, give yourself little exercises. Try writing essays about newspaper articles you come across, or essays summarizing books and discussing the main meaning. It may seem pointless, but it's a great way to practice. Try writing about things you aren't passionate about as well because that can be a huge challenge.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Thanks I will definitely check it out. I'm multi-tasking like crazy these days
