I keep on getting 217.9 N but apparently that's wrong for this problem: A block is at rest on the incline shown in the figure. The coefficients of static and kinetic friction are µs = 0.62 and µk = 0.53, respectively. What is the frictional force acting on the 41 kg mass?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm getting this by smgcos(theta)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

pic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only the mass is 41 kg

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

in that pic, you're applying two forces. that pic is not related to the current question i feel

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

more over, that pic is not about inclined plane

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the top force is not in my picture

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it helps if u can draw the pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! It's number 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, wrong problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 15 I guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Theta = 29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mass is 41 kg

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ohk makes sense nw :) let me see...

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

im also getting 217.88

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dang it. I hate this stupid program my professor uses :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but glad to know it's not me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :/

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
