What is the algebraic property of the equation? (5x) + 14 = 14 + (5x) A. Commutative Property of Addition B. Commutative Property of Multiplication C. Associative Property of Addition D. Associative Property of Multiplication

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@mkbwashere in the equation, are we adding or multiplying?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is where I am confused. There is multiplication and addition and I'm not sure which it is asking for.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

If you have, 2+3 what it is? multiplication or addition?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Addition. In this equation, it consists of both addition and multiplication.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

but if you see they are focussing on addition part, the orders of operands is being reversed. What i should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I see. So Associative Property of Addition? Because they want me to add the product of 5x and 14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, Commutative. My apologies.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

yes, A+B=B+A commutative property of additions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! xx

OpenStudy (ash2326):
