OpenStudy (azureilai):

A car travelling at 85km/h is behind a truck with a velocity of 75km/h. How many seconds will it take the car to reach the truck? I just need to know the equations and steps to do this problem because I am confused to what equation to use.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

distance = speed x time

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

we need another info, the distance between car and truck

OpenStudy (azureilai):

The question only states the velocities, so I was having a problem finding an equation to use. The answer is suppose to be 30.6 sec, but I have no idea how to get there.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

time to reach truck depends on distance between them

OpenStudy (azureilai):

Ok I will ask my teacher about it when I see him.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

since u knw the answer, if u have time, u can work it backwards and find distance if u want

OpenStudy (azureilai):

good idea, I will try doing that.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

use below :- distance = speed x time = (85 kmph - 75 kmph) x 30.6 seconds

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

just u need to change kmph to m/s
