do you know how to distribute through the parenthesis ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you use pemdas for this?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

example : 2(x + 1) is 2 * x + 2 * 1 = 2x + 2 (this is how to distribute through the parenthesis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no clue on how to do that

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you multiply the number or sign right before the parenthesis by everything in the parenthesis. Does that make sense to you ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):
