OK normal distribution is of the form (please see the figure)
One important characteristic of normal distribution is that the mean divides the data points equally, which implies that half of the data points would be less than the mean and half would be more.|dw:1380214738454:dw|
So 50% of data is left to mean and 50% to the right.
