which one is a factor of f(x) = x^3 + 7x^2 + 14x + 8? (x - 2) (x - 1) (x + 2) (x + 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My answer is C but D is a factor, too....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@John_ES Factors of the given expression are x+1, x+2, x+4

OpenStudy (john_es):

Yes, it's correct. ;)

OpenStudy (john_es):

You must select both.

OpenStudy (john_es):

If you can only select one, then pick one of them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why would my question give me two answers that are correct, though? :( (i can't select both. I can only select one)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perhaps its just a trick...

OpenStudy (john_es):

It can be a trick, or simply, they have a mistake. But I think is a trick, and you can choose C or D. Both are factors, for sure.
