When a point lies on the x-axis, what do you know about its y-coordinate? When a point lies on the y-axis, what do you know about its x-coordinate?

any ideas?

If a point is "lying" on the x-axis that means it is located right on it so there fore its y-coordinate is zero. Also, if a point is lying the y axis then you automatically know that its x-coordinate is zero.
