Which of the following sets would have a graph with an open circle on 5 and a ray pointing left on the number line? 1) {x | x R, x ≤ 5} 2) {x | x R, x > 5} 3) {x | x R, x < 5}

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Open circle means it doesn't have "equal to" as an option, so it can't be 1. On a number line, are numbers increasing or decreasing to the left?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am pretty sure it would be #2 because of the fact the larger number is to the left so i would go with 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The closed circles mean : Less than / Greater than , or Equal to . The open circles mean : Less than / Greater than .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i would go with 2
