what is 2n-5=7

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Why don't you try this one, @buckley.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Isolate the variable part, by adding 5 to both sides.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

What do you get?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

If you would try to learn how to DO the problem, you would finish the assignment much quicker than putting them all here and waiting for someone to tell you the answer. These are quite simple equations and shouldn't take much effort to solve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get 2n by it's self so add 5 on both sides 2n=12 /2 to get n =?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DebbieG i got 6 for my answer

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Yes, 6 is correct.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

@calculusxy: 2n - 5 = 7 2n - 5 - 5 = 7 - 5 2n = 2 <---- here is your error. Look at it closely, do you see what you did wrong?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

However, it also isn't -10. So if you are reading the answer sheet correctly, then there is an error on the answer sheet.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

What the heck, why are you quoting a problem from algebra.com?? lol
