I need to find in 1776 and 1870 as to Number of States and Borders there where...I need recourses as well I cant find this anywhere

There were 13 colonies in 1776 I know that..
And they were all on the east coast, the west was still controlled by spain
yes my teacher said I cant use wiki and that all that came up so im so confused I even looked all through my book but I don't know hat page.....and yeah my teacher told me about the 13 colonies in 1776
And areas like mideast and midwest were indian reserves and British Territories

What I know for memory is that Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine were all there original colonies, and were bordered im pretty sure.
