the tenths value is first number to the right of the decimal. 1.157894736842105....the tenths value is 1. Now you have to look at the next number to the right of the tenths value and it is 5. (the 5 is in the hundredths value). If the hundredths value is 5 or above, the tenths value raises by 1. If the hundredths value is 4 or below, the tenths value stays the same. As you can see, in this one, the hundredths value is 5 or above, therefore the tenths value raises by 1 making it round to 1.2. Does hat make sense to you ?
