can anyone plz tell me what is suprimum of R???

OpenStudy (amistre64):

The lowest upper bound in R

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know the def but wht is that no?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what does the definition mean? or, what is the value of supR ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

means {1/n } has sup 1...similarly i want to ask wht is the no that we call sup of set of real nos R?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the set of real numbers is not bounded above or below; it has no sup or inf

OpenStudy (amistre64):

depending on the class, the supR may be considered to be infinity - but that blurs the context that infinity is not a value, but a direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no R is complete so it has the sup(by the property of competeness) but i dont know the value of sup in R :(

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how high do the values in R go?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

can you find some r in R that is greater than rest?
