What Is The Square Root Of x^9.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it would be x^3... it's been a while since I've done that stuff.

OpenStudy (phi):

the square root of x*x is x the square root of x*x * x*x is x*x you take out "pairs of x" x^9 has 9 x's how many pairs can you take out

OpenStudy (phi):

in other words write x^9 as x* x^8 \[ \sqrt{ x^8 \cdot x} \] now you have 4 pairs of x's you can take out of the root sign, leaving one x inside
