For which do you have to put the terms in sequential order? median mean mean and mode median and mean

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Do you know how to find each? Only one has to do with the "ordering" of the data. Which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the mean right?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

For the mean, you add up all the data values, and then divide by how many of them there are. Does anything in that process require that the data be sorted in order?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it would have to be the median

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Right... so try again. :) Think about HOW you FIND each value. Does the process require that the data be ordered? For which one?

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Right! Median, because you are looking for the "middle" data value. So you have to have them "lined up" in order.
