What is the solution for x in the proportion ten over sixteen equals five over x?

Cross-multiply, then divide.

After you cross-multiply, it should be clear. ;)
the answer is 10 then right
OR, just look at the proportion and determine what x will make the ratios equal. Eg. 10/16 = 5/x So, what do you "do" to 10 to get 5? Do that same operation to 16, and you'll have x.

the answer for x is not 10. If you mean, what you divide by (if you cross multiply),t hen yes, that would be 10.
