11 ?

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

Hi, do u know how to write 121 as a square of another number ... i.e 121 = x^2 wht will be "x"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)*(a-b) So, x^2 - 121 can be written as (x)^2 - (11)^2 So, it is (x+11)*(x-11) = 0 Therefore, (x+11)=0 x = -11 and (x-11)=0 x = 11
